Contaminants

Pesticides

The cannabis industry demands uncompromising safety and purity. One of the most critical aspects of safety in the cannabis industry is the detection and elimination of pesticide contaminants. Pesticides are used to protect crops from pests and diseases, but when used improperly or in excess, they can leave residues on cannabis plants that may pose serious health risks to consumers. Regulatory agencies have stringent guidelines for pesticide use in cannabis cultivation, making pesticide testing an essential component of quality control. With BioScisionLab’s pesticide contaminant testing service, you can ensure the safety and quality of your products while meeting regulatory standards set forth by Health Canada. Protect your consumers, your brand, and your business by partnering with us for pesticide contaminant testing.

Aflatoxins

In effort to continue to offer the best support and highest safety and quality standards, BioScisionLabs offers targeted Aflatoxin testing in cannabis flower and concentrates. Aflatoxins, a group of harmful mycotoxins produced by certain molds, can pose a significant threat to both public health and the consumer. Aflatoxins are toxic compounds produced primarily by Aspergillus species potentially contaminating cannabis during cultivation, storage, and processing. These contaminants are known to be carcinogenic and can have severe health consequences when consumed. Even when cannabis or cannabis products have been remediated for the mold contamination, if those contaminating molds are aflatoxin producing strains, the aflatoxins secreted remain in-tact and pose a significant health risk. Regulatory agencies have established strict limits for aflatoxin levels in cannabis to protect consumer health.

Our Aflatoxin Testing Service

Our commitment to precision and reliability remains the foundation of our business model, including our aflatoxin contaminant testing service. Using our LC-MSMS platform, our aflatoxin tests boast of the lowest detection levels, meeting even the strictest of the regulatory requirements. In our laboratory, we can achieve low part per billion (ppb) limits of detection to catch even the smallest level of contamination. Results appear on your CoA in parts per million for each aflatoxin of B1, B2, G1 and G2 as well as Ochratoxin if required. The sum of all four aflatoxins is also reported to satisfy regulation.
